These recordings have been sourced and meticulously re-equalised by the host of http://crossbandradio.com/ in order to bring out the full frequency potential which is pseudo hi-fi in some instances. Minimal noise reduction has been utilised in these transfers which derive from a multitude of YouTube and other sources.
This selection was previously hosted on the Crossband Radio Site (link in previous paragraph) which I thoroughly recommend to anyone interested in Australian radio history.
The Crossband 'missions' associated with this site are an Australian institution worthy of note. Tune into the inane conversations which are often live after midnight on Saturday evenings - 1865khz / 3670khz / 147.475mhz and for those without a wireless, the Streaming Service on the Crossband site itself http://www.crossbandradio.com/vk160rx.html The participants; some of which have been involved with the 'missions' for over 40 years, share a passion for Radio Nostalgia in all it's guises.
The following information is about alternative program material currently suspended until a third streaming service can be instigated, but the html links themselves are active.
I will draw attention to future live feeds and programme changes on this blog, when they are up and running. Meanwhile, enjoy the meanderings of Henry, Olivia, Beatrice, William and Celia. The older material features me at the helm, but the kids seem to be more independent now. There are also some video snapshots of the kids in action on youtube.
